Gary Illyes, Google Webmastaer Trends Analyst and Search Quality Engineer, said Google may be launching an algorithm update to the existing “Penguin” algorithm.  Illyes announced this at the Search Marketing Expo – SMX East 2014 on October 2nd.  This is said to be an actual re-write of the algorithm which is a much larger change than just an update according to Search Engine Land.

The first Pengiun algorithm affected websites that are manipulating the number of links pointing to their page by purchasing links or using link farms.

We aren’t sure exactly when this will launch, of course, but we will keep all our clients and blog followers updated with the latest information.
