New Year’s Resolutions For Your Internet Marketing Campaign

New Year's Internet Marketing ResolutionsIt is almost 2010 and its that time of the year again: New Year’s Resolutions.  It’s time to reorganize and refresh your life and your business for the New Year.  Many of us are planning on becoming more efficient business owners and operators.   With that goal in mind, I’d like to take this opportunity to give you some tips on what you might want to focus on to help your Internet marketing campaign be as effective as possible and to get you the greatest amount of new customers and clients in 2010.

Solicit more inbound links.

Look into getting an optimized press release, an inbound linking campaign, or make it a goal to get 10 new inbound link requests sent out per month.  Inbound links are more important than ever.

Create and add more content to your website.

You should think about either adding additional content to your website’s existing pages or adding new pages entirely.  The new pages can be used to strengthen your struggling keyword phrases, or target new keywords entirely.

Promise yourself to write at least four blog entries per month for those who have blogs.

Blogs are food for search engines and useful to your viewers.  We all get busy since many of us wear all the hats in our company.  Take some time early in 2010 and make a list of ideas with general outlines you want to blog about.  Then, when you’re in your busier times, you won’t have to search for the creative time needed to come up with what to write about.  The ideal minimum amount is one blog per week, but more is better.  The more often you write, the more often the search engine spiders come to view and rank your content.

Renew and refresh your SEO campaign with us if it has expired.

The holiday rush is over.  The dust is settling and you’re trying to get all your numbers in line to see how you did and to make the IRS happy.  This is also the time to start thinking about next holiday season.  January to April are the best times of the year to refresh and renew your SEO campaign with our SEO Maintenance Plan.  If you want that big term for the Christmas rush, now is the time to start, especially if you’re an online retailer.  This coming year will be the most competitive yet.

Look into expanding your Internet marketing campaign.

Along with refreshing your campaign with our SEO Maintenance Plan, you should consider if you need to move up to an aggressive SEO campaign.  If you’re having trouble with your keyword phrases getting positioned where you want them, if they have hit a plateau, or if you just want to ensure your placement for your terms, I suggest an aggressive SEO campaign.  An aggressive SEO campaign includes a linking campaign, blog addition (if you don’t already have one), optimized social media, and  three to four optimized press releases.  Call me for a free evaluation of your existing campaign to see if you need an aggressive SEO campaign and how we can help.

Get your Social Media together – Facebook and Twitter.

These two are essential to have in 2010, but more importantly, you must actually manage them and utilize them weekly.  We offer Social Media Management services if you just don’t want to deal with it.

We have a better economic outlook for our country this year, but times are still tough for many people, so marketing your products or services should be your top priority. We offer all services mentioned about at our affordable Internet marketing rates.  Call or email me today if you have questions or would like a quote.

Be safe, have a wonderful New Year, and I look forward to working with you in 2010!

Best,
Allyson

Google Launches Personalized Search Results for Everyone

On Friday, December 4, 2009, Google announced that users will now be receiving personalized search results based off of their past usage. Before Friday’s updates to Google’s search engine, only users who were logged into their Google account were receiving personalized results based off their searches and browser web history. Now, even if you do not have a user account with Google, they will still automatically personalize your search based on the last 180 days of searches from your computer.

How Will This Affect SEO?

If your website has a legitimate, honest SEO campaign, you shouldn’t be affected in a negative way.  It is my personal opinion that it may even help pre-qualify visitors and improve your click through ratio.  Much remains to be seen, but this will be interesting to follow since Caffeine will also be launching in January 2010.  For those of you unfamiliar with Caffeine, it is Google’s entirely new search engine.

Lots of fun in 2010, so make sure your site is freshly optimized and you’re all working on your inbound link campaigns.
